Physician Advocacy
A critical function of the Washtenaw County Medical Society is to advocate on behalf of our members in several priority areas and and to provide our members with tools they need to succeed in our changing health care environment. A key way that WCMS accomplished this is through quarterly Zoom Legislative Council meetings. Held on the Monday mornings, prior to office hours, these meetings offer our members the chance to meet face-to-face with federal and state legislators to discuss Meetings are open to all members but pre-registration is required to receive the Zoom link: September 9, 2024November 4, 2024WCMS and MSMS legislative experts closely monitor and respond to legislative developments that impact the profession of medicine and patient care. We alert and educate our members about these developments and provide the tools to help them engage with their local lawmakers on the issues that are most important to capital area physicians and their patients.

Through the MSMS House of Delegates, WCMS members can shape a wide range of health policies to improve and protect patient care.
