About WCMS

Washtenaw County Medical Society is a forward thinking network of physicians in Washtenaw County. We aspire to optimize patient, physician and community well-being.

WCMS members include over 1,000 physicians and medical students, spanning all specialties across all practice types. We are the only association in the county specifically for and limited to physicians, offering a neutral environment for members to share resources, discuss ideas and network with some of the most active and respected physicians in the state.

To strengthen the unified voice of medicine in the state and across the nation, WCMS works in tandem with the Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) and in affiliation with the American Medical Association (AMA) to advocate, educate and lead.

The Executive Council is the executive body WCMS. It coordinates and supervises the Society's functions and activities and, if so designated, acts as the task force on ethics for the Society. The Executive Council shall consist of the President, President-Elect, Immediate Past President, Secretary, Treasurer, at least three elected Council members, and two appointed members by the President each year. There will be one dedicated medical student position, one dedicated resident position, and one dedicated young physician (in first or second year of practice) position.
